The only negative was that the power cord wasn't inside with the deck. I reached out to the seller and we were able to come up with a solution to resolve this small issue. I found a power cord among my cords and wires, and he gave me a discount. The unit powered up with no problems and I was able to transfer my existing MiniDV tapes with no problems. Good seller.
