The included spacers mean that it can be used with different focal length macro lenses. I found it to be very stable when my Sony A7 was mounted on it. No fear of it tipping over. I have some very old negatives from the 1920's and can use this to scan them into a digital archive. One thing to be aware of. If you have a Mamiya 645 camera, you might be better off buying the Cumulus scanner made for its orientation.
