Synopsis
Larry Bird was a legend before he ever left Indiana to become an all-star with the Boston Celtics. A high school all-star from Southern Indiana, Bird led Indiana State to the 1979 NCAA championship game, then helped Boston to NBA championships in 1981 and 1986. When he came back to Indiana in 1997 to be the head coach of the Indiana Pacers, lots of questions remained to be answered. Everyone knew Bird could play, but could he coach? It didn't take long to answer that question. All the Pacers did was have one of their best seasons ever since joining the NBA. Larry Legend looks at the life and times of Larry Bird, championship player and rookie coach. It features extensive biographical material and explores the personal and professional lives of a paradoxical man who is one of the great sports heroes of the 20th century.

- a***e (35)- Feedback left by buyer.Past 6 monthsVerified purchaseThe book the seller sent is one that's special to me, hard to find, and which I had unfortunately lost. Not only was the price more than fair, but the seller was prompt to respond to inquiries, shipped the item quickly, packaged it safely, and its condition -- listed as acceptable -- was actually "Good!" I would definitely buy from them again, and appreciate that they also do charitable/humanitarian work, as that is a part of my work and purpose.Extravagaria [Hardcover] Pablo (Alastair Reid translator) Neruda (#167188457419)
