Seller Notes: “RUSSIA CCCP 1987 First Official Flown Cover,Space Mail,MIR Boardpost,Sputnik 1,KNIGA COA; ... “RUSSIA CCCP 1987 First Official Flown Cover,Space Mail,MIR Boardpost,Sputnik 1,KNIGA COA; Progress 33 delivered the first Soviet commercial on-board mail And an octagonal station seal produced by the Soviet space agency Glavkosmos to Mir. The covers are addressed to the resident crew. A 10-kopeck Sputnik special stamp date 12.04.1987 is cancelled withthe special postmark "30 Years of Cosmic Era" from Moscow as well se the special postmarks "Progress 33 launch Baikonur Cosmodrome" and "SoyuZ TM-3 Landing Arkalyk".The last two postmarks were used for cancellations-to-order in Moscow only.A total of 1,000 numbered covers were sold to the American stamp wholesaler Kurt Weishaupt, who passed them on to Hermann Sieger in Germany, Alberto Bolaffi in ltaly, pue Meiso Mizuhara in Japan. Astronauts of Soyuz TM-2 Yu. Romanenko and A. Alexandrov signed on the coevr, as part of the confirmation of the Glavkosmos chairman A.l. Dunayev on the reverse side.”
