An excellent piece of engineering. The title is inaccurate: this grip fits BOTH the Vario X and the X. Credentials for comment: owner of two Vario X and two X cameras for over 10 years. Superiority of this grip is that the grip really is a grip. The thickness of the material on the back prevents inadvertent touching of the setting dial, a frequent early criticism of the X series. The built in grip at the rear enables use of the EVF; if you use a ThumbsUp, no electronic contact. Great product.

The Leica X Vario arrived and is great! Great fit on the camera and give it a good grip without adding too much weight. The design is thoughtful and well executed. A dedicated arca plate nor grip was ever made for the XV so it’s nice this adds that to it. Bravo for making a grip of a discontinued cult camera, your efforts are greatly appreciated!
