Product Information
The girl of the title, Kate Brady (Rita Tushingham), is an artless, insecure young woman who lives on the family farm in Dublin. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she falls into a romantic affair with an accomplished, older author (Peter Finch). Lushly photographed, GIRL WITH GREEN EYES is one of many films from Britain in the early 60s that defined a new filmmaking generation through complex characters and the use of harsh realism. Based on the novel THE LONELY GIRL by Edna O'Brien, who also wrote the screenplay. The film is notable for the acclaimed performance of Tushingham in one of her earliest roles.
