Kessinger originally began performing at a very young age along with his brother Luches Kessinger. Clark stopped performing around 1944 when his brother passed away. In 1963, promoter, Ken Davidson rediscovered Kessinger. Davidson recorded Kessinger for his record label Kanawa Records. Kessinger suffered a stroke in 1971 and passed in 1975.
