I was skeptical about carbon fibers effect on the sound. But it did not effect the sound in a negative way. It does seam to clean up the sound. I assume from deadening the high frequencies created by digital power supplies. Receptacle input is flush with the outside of 5mm thick cover, I thought it may have been recessed due to the thickness of plate cover but it is not.
