However, only tighten bolts for the seat about halfway, and then attach the steel ring-footrest. This allows the legs to splay outward a bit to fit the steel ring. Only when the ring is attached and it's bolts tightened, do you tighten the bolts the rest of the way for the seat itself. Very nice chair, thank you to the seller, HomeSquare :)
