Synopsis
The fully-lived, yet tragically ended life of Ernest Hemingway has attracted nearly as much attention as his extensive canon of writings. This critical study introduces students to both the man and his fiction, exploring how Hemingway confronted in his own life the same moral issues that would later create thematic conflicts for the characters in his novels. In addition to the biographical chapter which focuses on the pivotal events in Hemingway's personal life, a literary heritage chapter overviews his professional developments, relating his distinctive style to his early years as a journalist. With clear concise analysis, students are guided through all of Hemingway's major works including The Sun Also Rises (1926), A Farewell to Arms (1929), For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940), and The Old Man and the Sea (1952). Full chapters are also devoted to examining his collections of short fiction, the African Stories, and the posthumous works. Each chapter carefully examines the major literary components of Hemingway's fiction with plot synopsis, analysis of character development, themes, settings, historical context, and stylistic features. Alternate critical readings are also given for each of the full length works. An extensive bibliography citing all of Hemingway's writings as well as biographical sources, general criticism, and contemporary reviews will help students understand the scope of Hemingway's contributions to American Literature., Provides a fascinating account of Ernest Hemingway's life, relating the man to his work, and explores the stylistic and thematic concerns in his extensive canon of fiction.

The "Latin Classics. Volume 2" CD is brand new, as stated in the ad.The disc itself is of good quality. The CD was packaged in a cardboard box, and unfortunately, the jewel case cracked during transportation and delivery, but the seller compensated for this issue by refunding 20% of the order price. The seller always responds to customer messages, which is very nice. The seller is honest and respectable. I am very pleased with the purchase. Thank you very much! I wish the seller all the best!

It's a DVD and I have not played it yet but it is brand new and in sealed packaging. It is what I expected and as described. The price included shipping and was very reasonable. Very exceptional seller. Without me even asking , seller found a way to get product to me through US retailers so that product did not have to go through customs or did I have to pay import fees on my end. Product arrived as described in mint condition and considering what I saw this fairly scarce item going for elsewhere a VERY good Value. My thanks to the seller and they have won me over as a source for product that has to be ordered from UK
