Along with his ace band the Brazos Valley Boys, Thompson carried his own brand of Western Swing out of the genre's regional following and into the mainstream and right up the charts. This collection covers the Hall of Famer's finest work, recorded with Capitol Records between 1948 and 1965. Includes 11 of Thompson's biggest Top 10 hits including "The Wild Side of Life," "Wake Up, Irene," "A Six Pack to Go," "Honky-Tonk Girl," "Humpty Dumpty Heart" and more; the album features the great Merle Travis on guitar.
