It was a golden age of music, when rock 'n' roll and pop was on the rise and local audiences were hungry for more. With TV in its infancy, 1958 heralded the beginning of the much-loved national television triumph Bandstand. Created by TCN-9 executive Bruce Gyngell and modelled on the successful American musical /variety show of the same name, Bandstand was hosted by the ever-charming Brian Henderson - setting the standard for 14 entertaining years and presenting an astonishing 1500 local and international acts during its illustrious reign. Featuring 18 classic episodes from 1965 1966 across 5 DVDs, VOLUME 3 includes: the complete Bandstand concert live at Myer Music Bowl in March 1965 (with Billy Thorpe and The Aztecs, Dinah Lee and international star Little Millie), the complete Bandstand Rock N Roll special featuring Australian live performances from Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and The Shirelles, a Bandstand Special on acts toured by promoter Harry M Miller (with Tom Jones, Hermans Hermits and The Searchers), Jacki Weaver in her singing debut, John Laws and Brian Henderson performing a country duet, Special episodes include Bandstand Aviation Show and a Roaring 20s Special and Live from the Alpine Hotel, Thredbo.

- 9***b (2)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThe postage was fine for a free package however the item arrived with the little spikes on the cover that actually hold the cd in place shattered and all over the inside of the box. I'm unsure if this was postage or packaging issue. Apart from that the actual cover of the CD looked a tad more distorted/ warped than as described in the photos. But for 8 bucks can't really complain it's decent value and the cd is flawless itself.
