Unfortunately for me, when I was attaching the blade to the unit, I dropped the unit to the floor, and a piece broke off. I'm sorry to hear about the accident. It sounds like the small tab on the blade that holds the guide may have broken off. If you still have the piece, you can use crazy glue for plastic to reattach it. If it was discarded, you can purchase a replacement blade (#2111), which includes the tab.
