Each chapter begins with a quote from the participants concerning their experience, adding personal insight to otherwise very academic material. The chapters also include a literature review as well as a comprehensive look at a particular issue as it is reflected amongst Kenya's diverse cultural groups. Where appropriate, the chapters include case studies, maps, tables, and photographs to further illustrate the major ideas presented. Discussion questions, activities, additional resources, references, and indexes complete this volume. Interdisciplinary in its approach, this book will serve as an important resource in many academic subject areas, including African studies, comparative politics, sociology, and anthropology.
