I could have used a medium. I ordered this when my neck was in intense pain assuming it would be here fast since the seller is less than 4 1/2 hours from my home. But it came snail mail via UPS, then to USPS and it took 5 days while I suffered. Don't lknow if it is the brace or not, but after nearly 2 weeks of pain it is finally getting better even though I only had the brace 2 days
