Ejecting is simple and straightforward and you can almost instantly figure out when the image has properly ejected. I had trouble ejecting the dark slide of my photo, but that is because the provided batteries were not powerful enough (the seller recommends Li-Ion batteries). You can also gently remove the dark slide by hand in a room with no light.
