Only used as a cool pack, instead of frozen peas & works well, keeping cool for about an hour. Not as thick as the old one I bought many years ago (less gel) but that split at the seam. The seams on this one looks more robust and are wider. It needs to be used with a cover, not directly on the skin but I had retained my old one as one was not included with this purchase.
