Synopsis
""Cezanne: A Study of His Development"" is a book written by the renowned art critic, Roger Fry. The book provides a comprehensive study of the life and works of the French painter, Paul Cezanne, who is considered one of the most influential artists of the 19th century. Fry analyzes Cezanne's artistic development, from his early works as a student to his later masterpieces that revolutionized the art world. The book includes detailed analyses of Cezanne's painting techniques, his use of color, and his unique approach to composition. Fry also explores the social and cultural context in which Cezanne worked, shedding light on the artist's influences and the impact of his work on subsequent generations of artists. The book is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of art, the development of modernism, and the life and works of one of the greatest painters of all time.1927. Fry, English art critic and painter and champion of modern French schools of art introduced Cezanne and the postimpressionists to England. From 1905 to 1910 he was curator of paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 1933 he was made Slade Professor of Fine Arts at Cambridge. Interested in all eras, he consistently stressed the importance of analyzing the formal qualities within a work of art. His biography was written by Virginia Woolf in 1940. This volume contains his influential work on Cezanne, who today is regarded as one of the great forerunners of modern painting, both for the way he evolved of putting down on canvas exactly what his eye saw in nature and for the qualities of pictorial form that he achieved through a unique treatment of space, mass, and color. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. This was a true positive customer experience, of old! The product arrived early, wrapped professionally, out of weather elements, a true value. But my player is not playing the dvds. I contacted the seller. No problem!! I can return them. What courtesy. What fast response. I was refunded BEFORE I sent the dvds back. It is clear this seller puts the customer BEFORE profit!! Outstanding! I'm telling everyone!! My colleagues will be watching for this seller!! Wel Done!!

The shipping was a bit slow as it took almost a week and a half to arrive. However, it came in perfect condition with the packaging very secure! The item came as described with a few marks and wrinkles, but its exactly like a new book from how good the condition is. There's nothing wrong with it inside the pages, only on the dust cover. For the money I paid for these two books that I have been searching for, I don't regret purchasing from them! I would love to buy from them in the future.
