The figures f/3.5 to 4.5 refer to the maximum aperture of the Nikkor; the minimum is 22. Close-ups focused at 10 inches are possible with manual adjustments of the Sigma optics. With autofocus capabilities, any focal length can be applied down to 2.8 feet. Aperture can be controlled manually within the lens apparatus with macro mode. This is especially helpful when the Nikkor lens is used on cameras from manufacturers other than Nikon. This manual focus AF-S zoom lens takes a Nikon F AI-S camera mount. Attach the lens to film cameras that take 35mm film or modern digital models. The adapter enables attachment to many other popular brands of cameras.
