It has a 32 megabyte cache (or buffer) size and its rotational speed is regulated. It has a feature that can give the drive a data transfer performance of 3 gigabits per second buffer to host and a 100 megabits per second host to/from drive. Western Digital Caviar Green hard drives are capable of approximately 300,000 load and unload cycles for their entire service year.
