When delivered in Germany, the courier redirected my parcel to a station and demanded 9,47€more, without explanation. Seller confirmed no extra fees should apply, but the item was withheld until I paid. I requested reimbursement, but seller refused and only sent a receipt after the fact. I effectively paid VAT twice. Neither the courier nor the seller wants to reimburse me. This is misleading and very frustrating. Ebay take your vat when you make the payment to them and submit it to the German authorities on your behalf, hence why no VAT to pay.
