It is a definitely easier to clean than the DK-17 (sans F suffix), which was a pain to clean. However, please be careful to install it with Nikon DK-19 eyecup, especially the (securing) ring. I learnt my lesson very hard yesterday when I forgot to install and I tried to get it out. I thought I was screwed royally but calm head prevailed and I installed the rubber eyecup that came with DK-17F and screwed anti-clockwise.
