Product Information
During World War II, the American War Department created a series of films designed to inspire patriotism and support for the war in viewers at home. Produced in 1943 on behalf of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, "All Out For Victory" aims to motivate people working in factories by suggesting that they are just as important a part of the war effort as the soldiers themselves. "Highballing to Victory" considers the integral role that tires and wheels play in the war, showing various missions in France, Italy, and China where the United States Army, Air Force, and Marines depend heavily on tires. The films "Men and Jobs," "It's Everybody's War," and "Curtis Wrights Shorts" also attempt to improve productivity and industrial worker morale by making all individuals feel that they have an important role in the war. Additional highlights include "Test Tube Tale," a film sponsored by the Chevrolet Motor Company that explores the promising future of the chemistry industry, as evidenced through products like nylon stockings and transparent raincoats.
