I don't believe it is (180 lumens) as it is stated, but compared to the (30 lumens) the Maglite (ML25IT incandescent Xenon bulb) flashlight gets out of the box with a stated (3 hour 30 minute runtime), this LED upgrade makes the flashlight at least FIVE TIMES BRIGHTER. Plus just think about that (40 HOUR RUNTIME) you now have!! ASTOUNDING!! To the other reviewer that said about (taking batteries out) of flashlight BEFORE you insert/install this led upgrade, THANKS!!!

To fit: remove the bit that says do not remove using a flat blade screwdriver to prise it apart. Put the bit with the metal contacts into the tube with the batteries and refit the do not remove part
