Its easy to just twist and line up. Its a tight fit and works great. For the price, its solid. Great hood if you know you're going to be in some places where your front element might get hit.

Nikon itself never made any real lens hoods that actually stayed on properly, They have a very flawed system on lens hood design.. Sony however has a nicer system and you don't ever see a sony lens hood falling off...
