This is for a 1980 Chef A901p (I think), and is the second repair. The small capacitor had bulged and cracked. The resistor in series was burnt out. I guess the semi conductor had shorted (no test eqpt). Changed everything.

Better gear than the nylon one that was in my Kenwood a701. That had split clean on half. Admittedly it was probably the original 1960s part, so can't complain. This is a nice solid metal one, meshes with the teeth perfectly. Just put a dab of the grease on the shaft so it slides on easier. Nice fit and works perfectly.
