The Magellan eXplorist 200 uses a proprietary TrueFix GPS technology that is supported by EGNOS and WAAS receiver on 14 parallel channels. EGNOS is a European satellite navigation system, and WAAS provides positioning through GPS signal correction. This combination allows for a reliable, fast signal. It has an accuracy rating of up to 3 meters and a built-in, multi-directional patch antenna update. According to the Magellan eXplorist 200 GPS manual, it features a built-in 8 MB of memory with background maps of Europe and North America. The map shows waterways, parks, roads, airports, and city monuments. It helps people navigate roads and highways along with the mountain trail.
