- c***m (615)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThank you doesn't begin to express my appreciation for receiving this old book on St. Oliver Plunkett. I was thrilled to receive it, as was the family. The book was mailed quickly and was in near perfect condition, a surprise because it was published in 1937. Many, many thanks to the person who packaged it carefully and sent it so quickly.
- r***d (550)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseI was able to buy a standard work of reference for a very reasonable price. The books are as described and depicted--with the exception that the bookseller himself (or herself) has written extensive comments on the flyleaf. I have bought many antiquarian books; this is a very strange practice that diminishes the value of the books sold (and purchased). The customer is left with the task of erasing these comments without damaging the flyleaf. Unpleasant.Reply from: kubikbooks- Feedback replied by seller kubikbooks.- Feedback replied by seller kubikbooks. We're sorry you disliked the pencil notes. It has been traditional for antiquarian bookstores to put bibliographic/historical information on the front endpapers in pencil for over 200 years. This may be a custom unfamiliar to some in an age where there are fewer antiquarian bookstores but it is standard in the rare book trade.
