It’s very loud on first boot up but ramps down after finishing boot. Still not something I’d want near me but acceptable in a rack. There was some physical damage on one of the fibre modules and the sfp needed some force to get in there. Overall, for the price this is a fantastic switch and a great deal. Seller also removed the ears for shipping to avoid damage.
