There is easy access to battery, which is not often the case with similar items. It remains to be seen how durable it will turn out to be (I've had mixed luck with similar products in the past). The one weakness was the carry strap--it is clearly meant to attach to the loops on the camera (as there are none on the shell itself), but neither the thick metal rings nor the wide straps are well-suited for this task.
