Synopsis
This historical novel follows the frontier adventures of Levi Richason as he leaves his Wisconsin home in the 1800s, embarks on a danger-filled trip down the Wisconsin and Mississippi rivers, and heads west to the wildest little cow town on the prairie ¿ Dodge City, Kansas. Along the way he encounters severe storms, hostile Indians, and the cavalry. While in Dodge City, he runs a freight line, hunts buffalo, and becomes a gunfighter. His love for a woman eventually results in a shootout with gambler Frank Loving at the Long Branch Saloon.
