These things work great but I had a hard time taking the thing apart to install them. Drilling the spot welds didn't help, I ended up drilling all the way through and it still wouldn't come apart. So I used a hammer and screwdriver. The plate was pretty trashed by the time I got it to come loose but it didn't seem to matter. Put it all back together and now my 2001 Camry driver's door stays open.

Installed this door check rebuild kit on my 99 4Runner SR5 today. Sellers directions are spot on. I had tried to rebuild with other "guts" from junkyard pieces but never was quite right. After 235K Mile, the doors now stop halfway and then fully extended out (like when new), and won't close at all on a slant. Like new again, thanks for making these.
