Prescription Drugs

Prescription drugs, or drugs containing prescription strength medication, are not allowed.

Controlled drugs or items (or their components) that require a prescription from a licensed practitioner (such as a doctor, dentist, ophthalmologist or optometrist) are not permitted on eBay; this includes drugs prescribed by veterinarians for animals. Under Malaysian law, it is an offence to sell, supply or export any medicinal product without a product registration. In particular, the Sale of Drugs Act 1952 and Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984 require all medicinal products sold in Malaysia and manufactured or sold to be registered with the National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau - opens in new window or tab or the Drug Control Bureau of the Ministry of Health. The Medicines (Advertisement and Sale) Act 1956 also prohibits advertisements of medicines relating to certain diseases like diabetes, epilepsy or hypertension. All products which are not stated in the General Sale List are prohibited from sale on eBay.
