Additional eBay requirements when selling tickets
Not allowed
- Tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics
$300 Face Value Policy
For resale of tickets with a face value of $300 or more per ticket, sellers must include proof of the ticket face value in the item description in the form of a partial scan of the actual ticket - clearly showing the face value and the event date. Sellers falsely representing the true face value of any tickets may be permanently suspended from eBay, and may be subject to criminal prosecution.
Primary Ticket Sale Policy
Primary ticket sales may be listed on eBay and are exempt from eBay's ticket resale policy. However, please see Additional Information for specific regulations in Malaysia. To qualify as a 'primary sale' of an event ticket, the ticket must be sold on eBay by the artiste, team, promoter or organiser of the event, and the seller must clearly and explicitly state in the listing that the listing is an authorised first sale of the ticket directly from the promoter, artist, organiser or team to the public. For help with primary ticket sales please contact eBay at ticketsinfo@ebay.com.
Ticket Package Policy
Ticket packages may be listed on eBay, and are exempt from eBay's ticket resale policy. To qualify as a ‘ticket package’, the listing must not offer the buyer an option to purchase the tickets alone, and must include either:
- At least one item or experience of substantial value related to the ticket event that the seller has coordinated with the event promoter, team, manager, artiste, or venue, such as a backstage pass, a meeting with the performer, or an "experience" such as being a ball boy at a tennis game; or
- A complete travel package around the event, including both air transportation to the event location and commercial lodging for at least one night. Listings that offer tickets without these travel arrangements do not qualify as travel packages under this policy.
International Seller Policy
Sellers listing event tickets for resale from an eBay site other than www.ebay.com.my must also clearly include the following in their listing:
- The location where the event will occur, and
- The face value of the ticket, the number of tickets, and the following text:
The seller in this listing will not accept any bids or offers to buy above the total face value $__ printed on the ticket(s), plus a premium of__% of such value. Do not bid more than this amount. Bids that exceed this amount are void and will be cancelled by the seller. The seller will end the listing if, and when, this price is met.
This policy is necessary because the Item Specifics feature that is used to limit user activity in this area is temporarily unavailable on International sites. We appreciate your patience as we expand this feature to other sites.
Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn’t, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.
