Including clear and detailed photos of your items will help you to keep buyers happy by letting them see exactly what they will be getting. We require at least one photo in your listing, but suggest that you include many clear pictures of your item.
What are the guidelines?
Allowed
- Include large, clear photos of the item for sale
- Include pictures of any flaws so that buyers can see what they are getting
Not allowed
- Including photos that don't accurately represent the item for sale
- Placeholder images used to convey messages, such as no image available, or out of stock, or other marketing messages
- Stock photos for used, damaged or defective items
- Adding borders to your photos
- Using a picture that is less than 500 pixels on the longest side
- Adding additional text, artwork, or marketing to photos
- Watermarks of any type, including those used for ownership attribution
Activity on eBay is required to follow this policy, the eBay User Agreement and all applicable laws, as well as respect the rights of third parties. If it doesn’t, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: Removing the listing or other content, issuing a warning, restricting activity or account suspension.
Why does eBay have this policy?
High quality images improve the buying experience. Listings that follow these guidelines are more likely to result in a sale and show up in Google or other search engines.
