Rolex began producing Ref 14060 in 1990. The company continued to create these watches until around 2002 at which time it was replaced by the Ref 14060M. The steel dive watch uses a stronger flat sapphire crystal. It also has a unidirectional bezel with a black aluminum insert. This feature is a carryover from Rolex's early history with the Submariner before the brand introduced the Cerachrom bezel. Its dial is minimalist and instantly recognizable. It has a black background, luminous indexes, and the signature Mercedes-style hour hand.
