The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Mambacita Sweet 16 was specially released on May 1st, 2022, as a tribute to late basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and their Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. Most of the upper on this Nike Kobe shoe is made from black leather that has been arranged into a snakeskin design — an obvious nod to Kobe's "Black Mamba" moniker. The Nike Swoosh across the side and parts of the heel are made of white leather. The number 2 — Gigi Bryant's AAU basketball jersey number — is written in gold on a white section of the side of the heel. The crest of their joint foundation is printed on the heel of this black-and-white Nike Kobe with the name "Gigi" on the right shoe and the name "Kobe" on the left.
