The LeBron Witness line isn't a favorite among collectors. There, we said it. But there's a place for Witness in a retail market where hardcore shoe speculators pounce on every new LeBron release.
With an original retail price in the $100 range, the LeBron Witness line is designed to appeal to the everyday wearer, those folks who just want a pair of nice-looking, comfortable new kicks. Simply put: the LeBron Witness is a practical shoe, not a performance sneaker.
The typical Witness shoe also avoids the bold looks, big statements and fancy salutes that LeBron's signature line is famous for. But even without a shoutout to Jay-Z and Kanye or a shoe celebrating King James' latest MVP, the LeBron Witness line, regardless of the release, comes in a wide selection of colorways, so there's likely a color scheme that appeals to you.
LeBron Witness 3
The LeBron Witness 3 is the earliest run in the Witness line likely to be found on auction sites. There are fewer standouts here, but a couple have proven themselves worthy of collectibility.

Released in 2019, new pairs have sold for $100 to $120, but pre-owned shoes are a steal, with some selling for under $40.

Although there have been five iterations of the Witness line, the quality (and popularity) of the collection has increased with each new introduction. The three most recent interpretations are the ones most sought-after by fans.
LeBron Witness 4
The LeBron Witness 4 line featured a staggering 16 colorways over its 2019 to 2020 run. Standouts include White/Voltage Purple/Pure Platinum/Metallic Gold (BV7427-100), University Red/Black/Pure Platinum/White (CV4004-600) and Midnight Navy/Black/Pure Platinum/White (CV4004-401). Certain colorways, however, have achieved a noteworthy second life on the resale market.

This colorway typically goes for around $90 to $150.
Nike LeBron Witness 4 Red Carpet (BV7427-005)
This one can be spotted on eBay for as high as $300.
Nike LeBron Witness 4 Summit White/Opti Yellow/Oracle Aqua /Summit White (BV7427-102)
This colorway, dubbed Fruity Pebbles, is arguably the most interesting, if not the most collectible shoe in the LeBron 4 line. New pairs can be had for their under-$100 retail price. However, the auction market is where things get more interesting. It's often seen going on eBay for over $200.

Future Collectibility of the LeBron Witness
Judging by the near absence of LeBron Witness 1 and LeBron Witness 2 shoes on collector and auction sites and the low resale value of some LeBron Witness 3 and 4 shoes on the secondary market, it would appear this line is less of a collectible and more of a bargain for fans of good-looking kicks — albeit ones that don't have the same performance attributes of the top-of-the-line LeBron shoes. Be that as it may, later releases of the Witness have started to spark collectors' interest. That could be a sign of things to come for this line.
LeBron 5 Witness
Released in 2020-21, this is the most recent line to hit the streets. The LeBron 5 Witness is a strong, stable and lightweight shoe with impressive looks, comfort, protection and on-the-court playability. It also comes in a range of colorways, including White/Clear Jade/Total Orange/Black (CQ9381-100), Team Red/Bright Crimson/University Red (CQ9380-600) and Pure Platinum/Chile Red/Black (CQ9380-006). There are a few, however, that have really attracted the interest of collectors and sellers.
- Summit White/White/Light Citron/Metallic Bronze (CQ9381-102). Released in early 2021 with a retail price of $100, this colorway was just beginning to make a name for itself, as collectors and fans scooped up the Lakers-inspired color scheme, albeit in Easter-like pastels.
Nike LeBron Witness 5 Black/Fierce Purple/Metallic Gold (CQ9380-003)
This predominantly black colorway was inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers, King James' team du jour circa 2021. Asking prices for a new pair of this colorway typically sell for around $120 — a slight increase from their original retail price — to $175.
Nike Lime Glow/Bright Mango/White/Black (CQ9380-300)
Among fans and collectors, this shoe has a fitting nickname, The Grinch. This isn't an official Dr. Seuss tie-in or a promo shoe for the latest Grinch animated offering, although LeBron isn't averse to starring in cartoon fare. You can typically find this colorway in the $100 to $140 range.
