Since 1985, when the Nike Dunk first graced the world, Nike undertook to make different versions of the shoe in honor of various universities and their sports teams. That drive continues to this day, with Nike's release of a low-top version of the Dunk to celebrate the University of North Carolina. The shoe's upper is made of leather, and it sports the university's white and light blue colors. The base material for the upper is white leather, while the overlays are made of University Blue leather. The overlays wrap around the toebox, go up the midfoot, run across the eyelets, and then wind down and go around the lower part of the heel. There's also a blue Nike Swoosh emblazoned prominently on the side.
