The Kumho Solus TA71 is a popular all-season grand-touring tire developed for sports coupes and luxury performance vehicles. This tire is made using industry standard tread wear indicators which are sunken in the tire grooves. Kumho used a tread composition containing nano-silica in the Solus TA71, with the goal of improving heat dissipation and overall road holding in lower conditions. The Solus TA71 has jointless bead bundles that isolate minor road irregularities, thus improving ride quality and noise isolation.
The tire features an asymmetric tire pattern with a big contact patch to boost grip and traction even further. The Solus TA71 incorporates four large circumferential grooves and sipes throughout the tread blocks to improve traction in wet circumstances. The inner tread of the tire has perfectly oriented zigzag sipes that provide appropriate biting edges for better traction on snow. The Solus TA71 has Kumho's proprietary ESCOT Casing Technology, which optimizes sidewall cord tension distribution and improves steering response. This tire is available in sizes ranging from 15-inch to 19-inch wheel diameter and is manufactured in South Korea.
