The shoe's heel features a Neoprene panel similar to the Air Jordan 11 — but rather than displaying the signature "23" numbering, it was left blank. The shoe's upper also doesn't feature any prominent Jumpman logo like essentially every Air Jordan model.

Although the one-piece upper on the Jordan Future was minimal, it made an ideal blank canvas for Jordan Brand to get creative with materials and colorways. Besides the basic woven colorways, the model also got a low-top version, a winterized boot version, fully reflective uppers, camouflage and even a super-premium woven leather pair that retailed for $375.

The Air Jordan Future debuted in March 2014 in two Premium colorways for $185. The "Glow" colorway has a semi-translucent glow-in-the-dark outsole, and "Infrared" boasts a bright red semi-translucent outsole. Both pairs feature black uppers with reflective 3M accents and waxed laces with gold metal tips for an elevated look.
Following the initial debut, Jordan Brand followed up with a slew of standard Jordan Futures in different colorways for $150.
