The Air Jordan 29 released in 2016 with the UNC colorway, the newest tribute to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina. A seamless Flyweave upper features an elephant pattern print that fades from University Blue at the toe to black on the heel. The heel's construction also changes from Flyweave to leather. A textured elephant print midsole highlights the shoe in white, and the midsole is equipped with a Zoom Air insert and Flight Plate technology to provide added support and functionality. University Blue appears again on the laces and tongue as well as on the bottom sole, where a textured tread adds extra grip to this basketball sneaker. Sneakerheads got their first glimpse at this UNC colorway when it released on January 4, 2016.
