Moldings and trim for the Mini Cooper come in a variety of different styles, including window trim, door handles, headlight bezels, rocker panels, side molding, bumper trim, and running boards along the exterior. Each style of trim serves a different function on the vehicle model. Trim selections allow for a variety of different aesthetic preferences among Mini Cooper owners.

Window trim is made from two different pieces: posts and edging. Posts comprise the middle of the trim and form a vertical line up the middle of the vehicle. The rest of the edging borders the remaining sides of the auto glass. Posts and trim are often available in a variety of different finishes, including metal and plastic options.

Door handles come in a variety of styles and finishes as well. The factory editions that come with the car can be left there or switched out for handles with different finishes, like matte colors or different metals. Some handles are textured as well. Different designs open by pulling up or pulling to the side.

Headlight bezels sit around the headlight in a circular piece. They feature a number of finishes, widths, and shapes. Some bezels can be combined with different types of headlight lenses to create different looks. These are largely dependent upon the particular vehicle owner’s taste.

Rocker panels are placed near the bottom of the vehicle, on the sides. These are relatively thick pieces of edging that come in different colors and metals to appear different from the vehicle’s paint job. These two types of molding and edging are often paired together. Side molding is mounted mid-door, where the vehicle begins to curve downward. These sorts of edging are related to the vehicle’s silhouette.

• Bumper trim is mounted to the front of the vehicle below the front vent. Bumper edging is commonly a different color from the vehicle’s paint job in order to stand out and emphasize other trim on the vehicle including hardware or metallic accents.
• The factory edition gas caps that come on the vehicle model can be left or switched out for a gas cap of a different finish or color. Metallic finishes are common among edging and molding, as are details or embellishments like visible screws and fasteners. Gas caps may be painted a contrasting color as well.
