Dixon Riding Lawn Mowers

Dixon has been developing and designing riding mowers and other landscaping machines and supplies since 1974. Lawn mowers from Dixon, including zero-turn (ZTR) models, are used for both residential and commercial purposes.

What is a Dixon ZTR mower?

ZTR is an acronym for zero-turn-motor. This means that the turning radius of the mower is zero. Many models produced by Dixon feature zero-turn capabilities. Most Z-turn mowers run fast and can cut lawns precisely. Normally, no additional trimming is required as Dixon's ZTR mowers easily maneuver around obstacles. Dixon machines offer a steel cutting deck and a 3-in-1 blade design. The machine rotates around its own axis for more exact cutting and discharge capability.

Why is there no steering wheel on Dixon ZTR mowers?

Instead of a steering wheel, Dixon ZTR mowers are equipped with two levers used to drive and maneuver the machine. Each lever connects to a motor which powers one of the lawn mower's two rear wheels. Pushing the levers forward drives both wheels forward, moving the mower forward. The machine will reverse if both levers are pulled back simultaneously. The speed of the mower is controlled by how far the levers are pushed forward or back. To turn left, push the right lever forward, and to turn right, push the left lever forward.

What accessories are commonly used with for Dixon Mowers?

  • Cover- A protective cover is commonly provided to protect the machine from the elements when not in use.
